Welcome to Krishnayan

Krishnayan is reviving the traditional arts of India and is giving them a new lease on life in todays’ contemporary context. We have been bringing the work of our craftsmen into the mainstream of everyday living while raising the artists’ status from community artisans to national artists.

During the COVID-19 crisis we have kept our artists engaged even though we have operated at a very low capacity. We moved our sales channels from our flagship store in the heart of New Delhi to taking custom orders via designers, architects, and interior decorators. We also continue to expand our foothold in the overseas markets, while growing our online ecommerce presence.

Our artists are producing designs from various eras and several art forms and these designs are being put on a saree or a scarf, as well as household items such as coffee mugs, trays and coasters. Some of the art forms are unfortunately dying, artists from remote parts of India find it difficult to monetize their work and choose other vocations. We want to try and keep these art forms alive and bring these traditional designs of India to the mainstream. As there is no middle man involved therefore the quality of products and cost remains consumer friendly.

At Krishnayan they create traditional art forms but also give them a contemporary make over to suit the changing times and budget. We have successfully produced almost produced almost all kinds of household products which appeal to people from all ethnicities. Our objective is to see Krishnayan be amongst the most tasteful curators of the unseen work, while getting the artists their due.
